Another Sunday Breakfast

I love making a fancy little breakfast on Sundays. It’s my favorite. I wish I could have shared this one with my mom for Mother’s Day.

This weekend I saw Kick-Ass. I can’t say enough good things about it. I was expecting it to be another guilty pleasure, but it blew me away. We’re talking laugh out loud and serious action/violence. Followed up the movie with some amazing soul food at House of Soul. Best collard greens I’ve ever had. It was a perfect Saturday.

You know the movie Easy Rider?   At one point in the movie Wyatt and Billy spend time with a couple prostitutes.  One of the prostitutes is none other than Toni Basil of the 80’s hit “Mickey.”

My to-do list this weekend included the following:

- Lunch with Cathy (we had falafel)
- Botox party*
- Bead store
- Library
- Buy coffee

Not on the to-do but still very important to my weekend was the book I read.  The book is called The Glass Castle.   Cathy also read the book, which made for a great day of riding our bikes around downtown and discussing the memoir.   If you read the book I’d love to talk about it with you too. 

Also a high point from this weekend…whilst perusing the CraigsList personals I found a m4w ad titled “Hood Nucca.”  I have been cracking up all day over that one. 

I give this weekend an A.  It doesn’t hurt that the sun was shining and I got to show off my Hawaii tan.  Oh, you haven’t heard?  I totally went to Hawaii a couple weeks ago.  It was a great vacation.  That’s for a different post, a post that will come soon because I want to write it all down before I forget all the details that made it such a great vacation.

*Don’t let anyone tell you that botox doesn’t hurt.  Ho-Lee Shi’ite.  It hurts like the dickens.  6 hours later it feels like I got punched in the forehead. However, in 5 days I will look smooth and innocent.
